9500 CONTROLLED TUBE WELDING SYSTEM

Application:

Joining of tubes for power generation, petrochemical and other industries.

Process:

The system is used with the TIG welding process.
(Can also be used with plasma welding)

Capacity:

Tube diameters up to 8" (200 mm)
No limit on the wall thickness.
No limit on the tube length.

Description:

The system illustrated includes a set of powered turning rolls with hold-down clamps to secure and rotate the pipe to be welded.

A TIG welding torch is mounted over the turning rolls, this torch is mounted on the actuator of an arc length control to maintain a perfect arc length. A cold wire feeder is supplied and the torch holds the probe of a magnetic arc oscillator.

The welding process is totally controlled by a 9500 microprocessor controller. The control is capable of controlling the welding current, arc length, rotary travel speed and wire feed speed. It also sequences the operation of the magnetic arc control.

Standard Jetline 9500 firmware provides closed loop control for all the four welding parameters (providing accuracies better than 1% of the set parameter) as well as allowing automatic multi-pass welding. Up to 25 weld passes can be preprogrammed and will sequence automatically without any required operator input. Unique firmware routines provide controlled operator over-rides and include "SYNERGIC TIG" weld control.

Similar systems can be made for all types of tube and pipe welding using either cold or hot wire feeding.
