Applications for a Welding Seamer:
General Purpose
Materials:
All ferrous and non-ferrous alloys and refractory materials.
Capacity:
Various models are available for part lengths from 24" (600 mm) to 240" (6,000 mm),
longer.
Up to 3/8" (10 mm) material thickness
Description:
The system illustrated is designed for the external welding of cylinders, cones, boxes and flat sheets.
The system consists of a tabletop mounted on a mainstay which is fixed to the base. The tabletop contains the copper-tipped clamping fingers
A machined track is mounted on the tabletop; the track is fitted with hardened and ground roundways. A carriage rides on bearings on the roundways to provide smooth movement of the welding equipment over the length of the seamwelder. The carriage is powered by a variable speed motor which is controlled by a 9627 microprocessor control. Travel movement is linear within +0.015" per 10 ft (0.4 mm per 3 m) length.
Clamping of the part being welded is air-operated and effected by two hoses which actuate the movement of two banks of copper tipped, aluminum clamping fingers. Air regulation is provided to effect a clamping force of up to 5,000 lbs./ft (75 kg/cm). This clamping force can clamp parts from 0.020" to 3/8" (0.5 to 10 mm) thickness.
Jetline offers two alternative but similar welding
seamers.
The LWP model is similar to the LWS model but has a linear tracking accuracy of +0.005" per 10 ft (0.1 mm per 3 m). It is supplied with continuous clamping strips that permit material as thin as 0.005" (0.1 mm) to be successfully welded.
The LWX model has the linear accuracy and capacity of the LWP and, in addition, is fitted with a linear drive for super smooth carriage travel movement with no backlash.
