For cost-effective weld finishing operations
Roll planishers are used to smooth and flatten the weld bead thus eliminating or greatly reducing the need for costly, time consuming grinding operations.
Roll planishing cold works the weld's columnar structure, relieving stresses and strengthening the joint. The process improves the mechanical properties of welds made in all types of material.
Jetline manufactures three types of roll planishers:
Longitudinal Planisher
This series of machines is designed for the longitudinal planishing of weld seams up to 96" (2,440 mm) long. Flat sheets or cylinders are pulled through two driven planishing wheels made of hardened and ground steel. Parts can be turned end-for-end to planish a total seam length of 192" (4,875 mm).
Universal Planisher
This model is similar to the longitudinal planisher but has swivel head rolls for the planishing of circumferential, as well as longitudinal seams.
Gantry Planisher
Where movement of the part during planishing is difficult, or where smaller diameter parts have to be planished, the gantry planisher is ideal. This unit is also suitable for irregularly shaped parts such as stainless steel sinks.
Planishers are available with a number of options:
-
Variable Speed Drive
-
Quick-change roll assemblies
-
Dual Pressure Control
- Planishing Cart and Arm
-
