SEAM TRACKING SYSTEMS
		Tactile or Laser based seam trackers, there is a model for every application. Maintaining the position of the weld head on the joint is critical and can be a laborious and tiring job for the operator. Jetline seam tracking systems take over control of the torch position and free the operator for other tasks. Three different models are available depending on the joint and the level of automation required; each model has a range of cross slides (drive assemblies) for differing applications. The units are good for GMAW (MIG), GTAW (TIG), SAW and Plasma Arc welding. Standard Seam tracker This model provides a "no-nonsense" approach to seam tracking. Using a convenient pendant mounted controls, the operator moves the welding torch into the joint and switches the unit to automatic. The tactile sensor senses the weld joint and moves the cross slides to set the torch in its correct orientation, This is achieved within an accuracy of ±0.005" (0.1 mm). This precise relative position with the weld joint is maintained as the part or the weld head moves along the joint for welding. Programmable Seam trackers Incorporating all the features of the standard unit, this model has the additional ability to search for and find the joint. Various search routines can be programmed. When the operator presses the start button, the slides move down until they sense the part, they move over to detect the weld joint and then automatically initiate the weld process. At the end of the weld, the slides are signaled to move the torch away for unloading. Optical (Laser) Seam trackers This laser-based system is ideal in applications where the standard tactile probe cannot sense the joint. The laser sensor "sees" the joint and maintains the torch position. Tack welds and tight joint fit up present no problem. All Jetline seam trackers use a range of cross slides with weight carrying capacities up to 250 lb. (110 kg).
