| Application:
Welding of parts in an inert atmosphere, i.e. titanium and zirconium parts for aerospace and nuclear applications.
Process:
The system is used primarily with the TIG welding process.
Capacity:
Unit illustrated has 36" x 36" (900 x 900 mm) tabletop.
Standard units are available up to 72" x 72" (1,800 x 1,800 mm).
Description:
In many instances, it is desirable to weld parts made of titanium or other refractory materials in a chamber where an inert gas atmosphere can be created and maintained.
Jetline purge-style welding chambers are designed to provide a suitable atmosphere in an enclosure that is made of rigid Plexiglas® to provide perfect visibility for the operator.
The rigid Plexiglas dome is mounted on a counterbalanced hinge to permit it to be easily opened and closed for the loading and unloading of parts. The dome is fitted with gloves with flexible sleeves, two pairs are provided is a standard chamber, more can be fitted is required.
The Blanchard ground table supports the parts and provides a perfect seal when the dome is closed. An equipment well provides feed-throughs for the welding torch and ancillary equipment.
The system is supplied complete with all the necessary gas control equipment, gas-monitoring controls can be provided to ensure the purity of the gas.
